SOULSINGER · SONGWRITER

ABOUT
Monica Ifejilika is a Norwegian-Nigerian singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Oslo, her sound is heavily influenced by the blend of traditional and modern music that filled her childhood home.
"Keep It Solid" was her unconditional declaration of love to soul music and its masters. Inspired by legends such as Bill Withers, Al Green and Roberta Flack, Monica created a personal retrospective album, with glimpses of the present. The response was warm, with homage to Ifejilikas unique voice and flair for catchy melodies.
With original songs wrapped in a rich and harmonious sound, "Keep It Solid" (2014) was a timeless album. The sequel is "in progress" and promises to be as solid as its predecessor. After 20 years in the industry, Monica still represents something new.
As part of Norway’s first and only black, female artistic collective, Queendom, Monica has performed on many stages, large and small, in Norway as well as abroad. The unique arts collective is an outlet for pushing political and artistic boundaries. They call themselves Afropean and their music Africana.
